Reminder... if you want to help change the world for the better, there are lots of ways to do it. For example, participate in research studies. For those in the St. Louis and surround areas: Research on cortisol levels and adverse childhood events! St. Louis based. Compensation is a FREE massage! Participants are needed in a study examining the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and cortisol levels. Participants will be asked to complete a 30-minute assessment... period which will include the collection of one small hair sample as well as 2 saliva collections. Additionally, participants will be completing one written assessment item regarding adverse childhood experiences, one verbal assessment, and 2 additional questionnaires. Participants must be 18 years or older and have hair that is not color treated at the root. IRB# Webster University: FA18-14 Book a time slot here: https://carrie-burnett.youcanbook.me
I find myself talking about this with my clients a lot. Just like the idea of we don’t know what we don’t know, when we are accustomed to chaos, peace feels threatening. The challenge lies in being willing to take the risk and stay there long enough to acknowledge this feels scary and weird, but I think I like it!. The more we give ourselves permission to do that the more options will unfold. And the more we are open the more we give ourselves the chance to see those opt...ions and more opportunities to try them out. #affectivemovementcounseling #sensingsaturdays
Trauma affects everything. It is our responsibility to heal from it.
If you've never had a pet, it may seem silly to grieve for one. For some, though, the grief is as real as that felt for a human.
