It was our pleasure working with Hitchcock Design Group on this Pedestrian Mall Reconstruction for Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. This project extended the 2015 plaza project, completed by Tom Wooten with HDG, southward to the Student Union. Our portion of this project included survey, drainage, grading, paved plazas and sidewalks, landscaping and gathering spaces.

Today the spotlight is on one of our newer team members, TJ Wilson. TJ is a Designer and has been working closely with our Vertical Structures team in Kansas City, MO. He has worked in the industry since 2006 and his niche is in structural design. TJ has worked in several business units including Energy, Oil/Gas/Chemical, Manufacturing, Commercial, Aviation, and Transmission & Distribution. This has provided him with a steady expansion of his skill set and experience. He is... excited to be joining the AE team and to have the opportunity to provide input on the development of our vertical structure practice, and we are equally excited to have him on board. Today we are recognizing a newer team member in our Destin, FL office, Paul Semmes, P.E. Paul has been working in the industry since 1986 and joined the Anderson team this year as Regional Manager. Paul brings invaluable experience and a diverse skillset to the table, with a niche in finding solutions to challenging construction related conditions. He works heavily with our Vertical Structures team and has already led the way to expanding our market with a new satellite offic...e in Navarre, FL. Paul recalls one of the highlights of his career having the opportunity to establish and build an engineering firm that became an active participant in the growth of the community. What made that experience stand out were the positive relationships we made with the community. Paul is passionate about giving back to the community and is involved in Rotary as well as coaching youth sports teams. He is equally passionate about his work and is excited to be a part of the growth within our company. He says that since joining the AE team, his own personal and professional growth has been inspired by his fellow AE team members. Thank you for sharing your passion and dedication, Paul we are fortunate to have you on board!

Today we are recognizing one of our newest members of our structural engineering team in our Kansas City office, Nathan Bertrand. Nathan began his career in this industry in 2017 and just recently came on board as an Anderson Engineering employee owner. His expertise is in structural analysis and design of steel structures and his project experience is both impressive and extensive. Nathan says one of the highlights of his career thus far would have to be designing a new 20,000 seat MLS soccer stadium for the Columbus crew in Columbus, Ohio. The unique career opportunities at Anderson is what drew Nathan in and he is looking forward to his future as part of our AE structural team. We are happy to have you on board, Nathan welcome to the Anderson Engineering family!

Today we are spotlighting Helen Scales, GIS Specialist out of our Joplin, MO office. Helen began her career with Anderson as a GIS intern in 2019 and joined us full-time this year, while also acquiring two Masters degrees from Indiana University. Her graduate research on water scarcity was presented at the Indiana Water Resource Board Symposium. Helen has a valuable skill set in technical writing and creating user-friendly GIS maps. She has been working with multiple communi...ties in the area to help them modernize their mapping and make it more accessible to the public. In addition to her GIS work, Helen is also helping to develop new business opportunities for the GIS department. Helen says that her Anderson Engineering colleagues’ expertise and attention to detail have inspired her professional growth by inspiring her to strive to make excellent maps. We are fortunate to have Helen as part of the Anderson family and thank her today for her commitment to AE excellence!
