Our team enjoyed a delicious lunch catered by Taste of Bosnia last week . Burek seemed to be the fan favorite, but everything else was delicious also!

A common cause of periodontal abscesses is a popcorn kernel that gets stuck in the gingival sulcus around the teeth, as experienced here by our young patient Alen. If caught early, the only treatment needed is to remove the offending kernel. This can be done by yourself or by your friendly neighborhood dentist or dental hygienist. If it is allowed to stay in place for too long however, it can lead to a serious gum infection that may require more involved treatment modalities. Enjoy popcorn responsibly. Brush and floss regularly. Visit your dentist.

Flossing is an essential part of taking care of your teeth and gums. It cleans the area between the teeth which often can't be reached by a toothbrush. We should be flossing at least 1x every day in addition to brushing at least 2x daily for 2 minutes. We encourage parents to include flossing in their child's oral hygiene routine as soon as they have multiple teeth present. And the littlest ones can start even earlier just to help create a good habit from the start.
