Today marks day #4 that we are out helping monitor the community for reactions after receiving their covid-19 vaccinations! A huge shout out to our staff, The ACADemy - Kirksville Paramedic students, and Kirksville Fire Dept. who have dedicated their time out here even in the cold weather!

We are so very grateful for the support of these agencies today. These crews were up early this am and traveled long distances to be there for us! Our crews were very appreciative of being able to show their full support to the family of Chief Steve Farnsworth and the Kirksville Police Dept.

It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that tonight Adair County Ambulance District prays for the family of Steve Farnsworth, and the Kirksville Police Dept. Steve was a strong leader who was always quick to lend a hand to those who needed help. Words to describe Steve include commitment, dedication, compassion, empathy and outright devotion to the job. It is said that no person is irreplaceable, but these will be some big shoes to fill. Steve’s legacy will be felt for years to come because of his leadership and dedication to the citizens of Kirksville, and Adair County Missouri. The Administration and employees of the Adair County Ambulance District want to assure Steve’s family and the Kirksville Police Dept. that they will be praying for them and keeping them in their thoughts over these next difficult days.

Please help us say THANK YOU to this week’s Local Hero. He should be recognized by many as a service-oriented individual. Jason Moss currently serves as a p...aramedic for the Adair County Ambulance District, but has also served in Scotland County. In addition to being a paramedic, he has served as an officer and K-9 handler/trainer for Northeast Missouri. We’re told by his nominator he was born to serve the community. WOW! Thanks for all you do for these communities and for letting us spotlight you as this week’s Local Hero. #KVLocalHeroes See more

Help save lives! Wearing a cloth face covering in places where social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (grocery stores and pharmacies) especially in areas of significant community based transmission can help. The CDC recommendation on wearing cloth face covering can be found in the link below. https://www.cdc.gov//prevent-getting/cloth-face-cover.html
