March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month! In 1987 President Ronald Reagan proclaimed March Developmental Disabilities Month. The goal was to destigmatize developmental disabilities. But it has become much more than that. All month-long, examples of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) are shared to showcase how they're living and thriving alongside people without. This awareness can help rescind negative stereotypes and fortify strong, di...verse communities! Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is about spreading awareness. It's a time to promote respect for people with developmental disabilities while educating others. #DDawareness2021
