Andrew County Ambulance District 15.10.2021

Greetings, We would love to find a couple EMTs or Paramedics to fill a couple PRN positions at the District. When I thought about the best way to present this, especially in a time when hundreds of places are looking for staff, I thought about just putting a short video together of why Andrew County Ambulance District could be the perfect fit for you! It's a short video, but tells why I love our District so much! Enjoy!... Blake, Administrator

Please remember that it is illegal for you to park in fire lanes, for any amount of time, unless you are a marked emergency vehicle. These lanes are used to allow for the safe parking of emergency vehicles during calls of service and to keep normal parking areas available for our community.

As the winter weather is starting up this morning we want to take the time to send a heartfelt thank you to all of the State, County, and City Road Department personnel! These men and women work so many long hours away from their families to make sure the roadways are safe for all of us! Remember when you see one of these vehicles on the roadways please allow them enough space to make the roadway safe for all of us!

With snow in the forecast we want to remind you that after 2 inches of snow all vehicles must be removed from the square and all snow routes until snow removal ...is complete. Failure to move vehicles will result in the vehicle being ticketed and towed off of the snow route. If you have questions about snow routes please visit the City of Savannah's website at www.savannahmo.net or call City Hall during normal business hours at 816-324-3315.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued from 3AM Monday thru 6AM Tuesday for areas along and north of a St Joseph to Kirksville line where heavy snow will be possi...ble. South of that line a sharp cutoff in snow totals is expected as rain/wintry mix is expected. Plan accordingly, as this will most likely affect Monday morning and evening commutes. See more

So, since there is a lot to unpack here with what we are expecting the next 24 hours we've provided 4 images. The first showing who is in the blizzard warning a...nd who is in the winter weather advisory. Areas outside of the blizzard warning could see temporary periods where visibilities could drop below 1/4 mile with snow however, where the blizzard warning is, is the area we are expecting sustained periods of stronger winds and reduced visibilities. The second graphic is peak wind gusts. These wind gusts have subsided a bit this evening but will increase late tonight with gusts 35-50 MPH out of the NW expected much of Friday. The third graphic is onset time. The main issue is that the morning and evening commutes will both be impacted...use extreme caution if you must travel. The fourth graphic is the snow totals. This will be a light fluffy snow and will most likely be difficult to measure as will be blowing around. Stay safe out there tonight/tomorrow everyone! Let us know if you have any questions. Winds and winter weather will be affecting the forecast area, especially north and NW Missouri. If possible, keep travel at a minimum on Friday and avoid travel north of HWY 36 due to the chance for blowing snow reducing visibilities, creating hazardous traveling conditions.
