Wednesday Night Bingo

I just got word from Norm about elections. Commander- Rick Kendrick 1st Vice- Mike Mickleson 2nd Vice- Jim Strope 3rd Vice- VACANT... 4th Vice- VACANT Adjutant- Ron Whiting Finance Officer- Jim Tribble Sargent at Arms- VACANT Chaplain- VACANT As no one was elected as 3rd Vice, it will be the responsibility of the Commander to fulfill the duties of this position and report to the Missouri Gaming Commission as of installation (the first Tuesday in August). Thank you all for two amazing years, and for being supportive in my endeavors through bingo, family, school, and work. I will continue to volunteer until my membership at post 499 expires and, after that, will join you all in the crowd. :)

I have a question for all the bingo players- IF we were to run one final raffle night at bingo before the change of command, what prizes would you like to see available? I'd like to run one more, but gift cards get expensive and we always seem to give out the same prizes. Also, feel free to suggest raffle ideas too (what kind of raffle you'd like to see). Thanks for the input! I'll keep you all updated as we go along :) -Taylor

I want to let everyone know that your concerns have not fallen on deaf ears while I've been gone. I can't make any changes to what has already been done but there will be a couple changes when I return next week. 1- the upstairs seating section will be closed during bingo hours unless opened for overflow when necessary to accommodate larger crowds. 2- we will be returning to program 1 instead of the new program 4 due to time concerns. This is the program that was played throu...ghout Linda's term as bingo chairman. I have investigated last night's call to the best of my ability and there is nothing that can be done as of now. However, it is my understanding after speaking to volunteers and to regulars seated in the immediate area surrounding the incident that the player in question was playing an additional set during the regular games and the correct progressive papers during the progressive games. Norm made the decision to honor the consolation payout after the player and those in the same group paid the $18.00 each difference between the price of admission and additional sets. Unfortunately, being understaffed declined the ability of Norm and our other volunteers to be able to police the players upstairs. I apologize that this wasn't caught before a valid bingo, but it is something I hope will be avoided in the future after implementing the changes mentioned above. I will be there next week, but please keep in mind that I am there first and foremost to run bingo. I will do my best to listen to everyone who wants to be heard but there is nothing I can do to change what has already happened. I would also like to give everyone advanced notice that I will not be running for another term as 3rd Vice/Bingo Chairman. Elections will be held June 9th and I will let everyone know as soon as I can who the new chairman will be. The change of command will take place approximately August 1st. -Taylor Strobeck
