OFD responded at approximately 3:30am this morning for a brush fire just south of Owensville. Upon arrival crews found a large fast moving fire in the woods and... open fields. Approx 10 acres on fire visible from the road. Due to the time of morning and the windy conditions, extra manpower was requested from surrounding departments. Fire was brought under control and crews remained on scene until 6AM. 20 total acres burned. Thank you to our mutual aid depts: Bland Fire Protection District, Gerald-Rosebud Fire Protection District, Belle Fire Protection District, Hermann Fire Dept, Cuba Fire Protection Dist and Sullivan Fire Dept. GRFPD brush 728 & tanker 723 responded to assist Owensville Fire Department with a 10+ acre brush fire off Tappmeyer Road. Units also on scene Bland Fire Protec...tion District, Belle Fire Protection District, Hermann Volunteer Fire Department, Cuba Fire Protection District, Sullivan Fire Protection District, and Linn Fire Protection District covered Owensville’s district while crews battled the fire. Crews worked hard to get the fire under control and contained. Job well done by all departments involved. Units have since cleared the scene and returned in service. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Bland Fire was called to a brush fire off Cross Road Church Rd this evening. Bland brush trucks 215 & 228 responded. Automatic aid from Owensville Fire Department was received adding another 2 brush trucks with manpower. We would like to thank Owensville for their assistance again.
