In 2017, that company 'reported an unusually large spike in revenue some $17.5 million, more than the previous five years’ combined,' The Times reported. 'It was accompanied by a $15.1 million withdrawal by Mr. Trump from the company’s capital account.' Trump has repeatedly assailed Joe Biden as 'soft on China.' Tax records show Trump paid $188,561 in taxes in China through his company from 2013 to 2015, vastly more than the $750 he paid in federal U.S. income taxes in 2016 and 2017. Asked if he would condemn white su...premacist groups, Trump declined, instead calling on Proud Boys to 'stand back and stand by.' In response, far-right activists posted celebratory messages online, and the Proud Boys' social media account posted a meme with Trump's remarks merged with their insignia. 'President Trump owes America an apology or an explanation,' said Jonathan Greenblatt, head of the Anti-Defamation League, which combats hate groups. Megan Squire, a computer science professor who tracks online extremism, told NBC News, 'To say Proud Boys are energized by this is an understatement. They were pro-Trump before this shoutout, and they are absolutely over the moon now.' See more

The Pentagon has ordered Stars and Stripes, the U.S. military’s independent newspaper, to stop publication by the end of September and shut down completely by t...he end of January 2021. The dissolution of the paper is the latest move under Defense Sec. Mark Esper to cut further funding from the department’s budget. A bipartisan group of senators objected to the move, writing in a letter to Esper that ‘Stars and Stripes is an essential part of our nation’s freedom of the press that serves the very population charged with defending that freedom.’ The senators also argued that the Defense Dept is prohibited from canceling a budget program while a continuing resolution funding the federal government remains in effect. The more than 150-year-old newspaper was first published in the midst of the U.S. Civil War and has since provided key information to troops and their families at home and abroad. See more
