DHA would like to congratulate second-year History MA student Maxwell Lee Abbott, who recently presented a research paper at the annual meeting of the Southern Conference on British Studies (SCBS). The paper, titled "Wielding the 'Sword of Fear': British Propaganda in America and its Impact on Missourians During World War I," looks at the affect of British propaganda on attitudes and opinions of German-Americans in the American Midwest before and during the First World War. Outstanding work, Maxwell! -
