Coronary artery disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the US. It causes heart attacks, and symptoms such as chronic chest pain and shortness of breath. Our interventional division specializes in treating all forms of coronary artery disease, including especially challenging complete artery blockages called chronic total occlusions. The picture on the left shows an artery that has been completely blocked for years causing debilitating angina. The picture on the right shows the artery after it was opened with stents nonsurgically from the groin. The patient's symptoms improved immediately. This innovative treatment helps heart function and more importantly, quality of life!

As a partnership, we earned the 2020 American Heart Association (AHA) Get With Guidelines Gold Plus Award. With the teamwork of Neurology, Cardiology, Neurosurgery, and Interventional Radiology divisions, stroke patients are quickly evaluated through a multidisciplinary team to treat and reduce recurrence of stroke as well as the treatment of arrhythmias that can cause stroke. Our team is here to provide excellent care for our community!
