TUESDAY TIP ...If you want to enjoy life & see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil... 1 Peter 3:10 Hold your tongue from negativity! And le...t your tongue loose to start thanking God for anything & everything that is good; cooler weather, electricity, friends, family, pets, running water, soft bed, evergreen trees, cute squirrels, anything that makes you smile or feel good. How about being thankful for the mailman, your neighbors, the Ozarks, paved roads, and stoplights? Or being thankful for your job, your community and your nation? An attitude of gratitude lifts your spirit, brings happiness & good days! Be Blessed!

Shortly after graduating from college, I got a job working in social services at a nursing home. At first, I thought the job was wonderful, but a GIANT was looming around in that nursing home. I’ll call her Olga. She was the Director of Nursing. She was big! I’m guessing 6’5 or maybe 7 foot. Big shoulders and mean looking. You could hear her nursing shoes squeak, squeak, squeaking down the hallway as she stomped along. Olga put a BIG shadow on my work day. (I mean she li...terally blocked the light). She liked to make fun of my voice and took pleasure in intimidating me. I spent a good part of my day just trying to avoid Olga. I wouldn’t go to the break room. If she was there, I didn’t eat with the rest of the administration, and ended up hating what was a good job. There’s always going to be giants in your path. I think schools should teach a course on Giants 101 because anything you ever do will always have obstacles. You can have great skills and talents, be a wonderful and caring person, but you also have to have a giant-facing mentality or you will get a bad attitude and/or quit. I like to read about David in the Bible. Small town boy becomes King. But David had to face off with a giant before he got his promotion. He knew God was for him. He knew harassing giants need to go down. I still avoid Olgas, but I don’t allow them to ruin a good thing. Giants are a given. Find your confidence in God. If God is for me, then who can be against me?!!! Be Blessed!
