The National Weather Service has declared this week as Severe Weather Awareness Week. Monday is Preparedness Day, Tuesday is Tornado Safety Day, Wednesday is Fl...ash Flood Safety Day, Thursday is Severe Thunderstorm Day and the week will end with NOAA Weather Radio Day on Friday. The highlight of this week will be a statewide tornado drill at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3. If hazardous weather is a threat, the drill will be postponed to 10 a.m. on March 5. The City of West Plains encourages all businesses and residences to participate in the weekly events to raise awareness and have plans in place in case of emergency.
