SSBC Announcement!!! For the 2021 Camp Season we will have Chief Uriah (Dylan Y) as our Program Director! Dylan and I are already working on the schedules and the training program for the upcoming camp season. We are excited to see what God is going to do in 2021 Camp Season! Please be in prayer for Dylan and I as we prepare, also pray whether the Lord is leading you to come serve along side us this summer. This in-district work week, I traveled to several communities in Missouri’s Fourth District, beginning with a stop at the Chamber of Commerce in Versailles to d...iscuss current issues with the city’s business leaders. I also had the opportunity to tour the Show Me Christian Youth Home in Barnett and the Sagrada Bible Scholarship Camp in Lincoln. The Show Me Christian Youth Home facility provides children with a faith-centered family environment that sets it apart from traditional foster care. Parents with children who are struggling with physical and emotional issues can turn to the Show Me Christian Youth Home for spiritual healing. The Show Me Christian Youth Home was established in 1967. It operates 10 facilities The Sagrada Bible Scholarship Camp was established in 1997 to provide a six-week summer camp for children of incarcerated parents. The organization began as a partnership with Angel Tree Ministries through Chuck Colson’s Prison Fellowship Ministry. Afterwards, I met with the Moniteau Regional Economic Development (MRED) group’s annual meeting in California. I provided an update on the Paycheck Protection Program and how applications are being accepted again through August 8th. These loans are for businesses that meet the Small Business Association’s size standards; sole proprietors, independent contractors, and self-employed individuals; and any business that has more than one physical location and employs less than 500 per location. Loan forgiveness is based on the funds being used for payroll costs, interest on mortgages, rent, and utilities with at least 60 percent of the forgiven amount being used for payroll. The day ended with stops in Lamar and Golden City. In Lamar, I met with Barton County leaders to discuss the coronavirus outbreak and its impact on business in the region. In Golden City, I had the opportunity to tour Golden Business Forms, which provides customers with all traditional business forms, roll products, fuel meter tickets, traffic citations, and automotive forms.

Sagrada Scholarship Bible Camp has not cancelled for the summer! We are working to ensure all campers and staff will be protected from any virus. And we are... listening and obeying the guidelines being put out by our government officials. There have been calls from some people stating the camp has been cancelled BUT that is not true. SSBC UPDATE: Hello everyone, I hope and pray you are all doing well during this quarantine time. We are definitely living in a time that has caused changes to... our way of life and has caused an environment that most of us have never experienced before. BUT GOD was not surprised by this virus, and HE is still on HIS throne. So we can have peace and hope in HIM. The biggest question everyone asks me is are we going to have camp this summer at SSBC? The answer is a resounding YES! I have prayed and spoken with other camp directors and our board of directors, and I believe this year our campers will need the love, encouragement, and Gospel that they can get at SSBC this summer even more than in years past. I am praying that the Lord will use this virus for HIS glory, and that we have boldness to do the jobs here at SSBC this summer! With that said, we will be taking precautions, to ensure the safety of our campers, volunteers, and staff at SSBC this year. There will be additional questions for the potential campers to answer prior to their coming. Their temperature will be monitored prior to getting on a van, upon their arrival, and throughout the week while at SSBC. We may also spread out the campers into more wagons, with fewer in each wagon. I just want to let you know we are doing everything to ensure safety, but we will not operate in fear. We are moving forward with camp, and right now we need more volunteers for each week. So if you have been waiting to see what’s going on, please pray and let me know if you are able to come volunteer at SSBC this summer. As I said, I am praying that God will do something so great this summer, that when everyone looks at how things went at SSBC this summer that will say There’s no other way that could have happened, BUT GOD. And HE will be praised for HIS Good works. As I close this out, I would like to ask for a personal prayer request. Please pray for Lucinda. She has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and has had one of six chemo treatments so far. She will have surgery after the chemo treatments are finished. Pray for healing for her. We are working to keep our cooks happy at SSBC with three new stoves/ovens. No more calling Chief Uriah or Big Fish telling us pilot light are out, the oven q...uit heating, the door broke, etc. These stoves/ovens are super nice and we thank you to those who gave to make this happen.
