obsessed with formal attire for my sessions - -... Sinea got a billion compliments on her dress. I was probably her biggest fan haha. The velvet, the color, the slit--were all perfection. She looked so good. And Austin looked so sharp in his suit. They look amazing together, and I loved the way they looked against the gorgeous KC architecture. It was so sweet to capture them at the place he had proposed, Union Station

Holly + Talmage I only had an hour with these two (COVID may have altered their initial plans a bit) but let me tell you, that hour was perfection. I can tell these two love deeply. It shows so beautifully within the photos. Speaking of beauty--Holly's mom MADE HER DRESS. I was literally blown away. It will forever be a favorite of mine. The sleeves, the fabric, and the details of the beading in the back are absolutely stunning. These two are an incredibly sweet couple. I was honored to have captured them. The photos are from their LDS sealing, and I am excited that she gets to wear that dress again for their additional celebrations back home in Utah

my new favorite thing -- surprise engagements // Here's how it happened: ... Tim reached out to me and asked if I could do a surprise engagement for him while he proposed to his (now) fiancé. I was immediately excited, and responding with a resounding "YES!". Tim had the idea that we would act as if these photos were simply family photos. Both of their families were in town and all together, so it made sense. Tim texted me a map of the park with markings of exactly where he wanted to pop the question (men--take notes plz). We went to the park and I waited for them to arrive. When they came, I pretended not to know Tim (despite conspiring with him for the past couple of days to make sure we had a full proof plan). We acted as if we were going to go ahead and take some couple's photos first as we waited for the rest of the family to arrive. THAT'S when it happened. To say she was happily surprised was an understatement. I almost cried (no surprise there either). We captured a few more couple's photos and then met up with both families. Their families were waiting for them with open arms and a bottle of champagne. They celebrated and cried together. It was beautiful Tim Pernice + Sonja Herrold

If I could sum up 2020 with one image, it’d be this To me, it’s not sad. It’s pure happiness for his daughter that he gave away to another man that day. While it may have been bitter sweetit was love. ... This year has brought a lot change, but I truly think it’s brought so many family members closer together (despite the physical restrictions). It’s bonded us all, and made me realize that while life can be unpredictable there will always be one thing that remains constant. Your family.

I was so excited to share this gallery with these two. They were down for anything that day--rooftops were the result. The way Adam looked at his bride made ME smile Once again, another shout out to the brides and grooms, like Veronica and Adam, who handled their 2020 weddings with such grace. As if wedding planning isn't stressful enough, this year has been a journey for each of my couples. I admire their grit and determination to get married despite the chaos. LOVE WINS
