Today is the last day to register for Rudolph's Candy Cane Hunt tomorrow morning at J.R. Martin Park! This event is for toddlers ages 2 to 5. Candy canes will be hidden around the playground at the park for the kids to find. If you get lucky, you may find special candy canes and win an extra prize! Rudolph will be available for photos along with hot chocolate and other "reindeer games" for the kids. Pre-registration is required and is $5.00 per child. We have a few spots left in our Parent's Night Out program tomorrow night! Parents, do you need an evening without the kiddos to do some Christmas shopping or decorating? Sign them up for our Parent's Night Out program on Friday, December 11 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Art Zone will be on-site to help us create our own Christmas ornaments out of clay. We’ll serve pizza for dinner and have other holiday-themed activities. The program is available for children in Kindergarten through age 12. The cost for the program is $15 per child and registration can be completed online at recdesk.republicparks.com (under Community Programs). Registration is limited to 15 children.

THANK YOU to all who attended our drive-thru BOOgie Bash event on Friday! Winners of the costume contest can be found on the graphics below, along with photos of all of our awesome entries! Winners will be contacted by phone today and can stop by the Community Center to pick up their prize!

Our crews will be working this week to replace all lighting at the J.R. Martin Park Tennis Court Complex. Users may experience intermittent availability of lighting in the evenings as we work on this project. Installation should be completed by this Friday, December 11. We appreciate your patience as we complete this project!

Have you registered for our School’s Out Camps scheduled for this Friday, October 30? The morning camp features a visit from Code Ninjas as they lead a coding and robotics class. The Dickerson Park Zoo will be bringing some of their animals on site for a visit during the afternoon camp. Camps are open to kiddos currently enrolled in Kindergarten through age 12. If you register for both camps, we’ll provide pizza for lunch at no additional cost. Registration can be completed online at recdesk.republicparks.com (under Community Programs). Don't forget to register for our Kid’s Paint-A-Long class with Art Zone this Wednesday, October 28! Sign your little artist up for this fun class and get ready for Halloween by painting this pumpkin scene. An instructor will guide students through creating their masterpiece. **SOCCER CANCELLATION - MONDAY, OCTOBER 26** All soccer games for Monday, October 26 have been cancelled. Coaches will be contacted with reschedule information

Registration opens today for Winter Boys Basketball! The season begins January 4 and is open to players in Kindergarten - 6th Grade. Individual and team registration can be completed online at recdesk.republicparks.com (under Youth Sports). Register by November 20.

**BOOGIE BASH EVENT CHANGES - DRIVE-THRU EVENT** It's windy... it's cold... but that won't stop us from having our BOOgie Bash event this evening! Join us for a decorated drive down Park Road in J.R. Martin Park with several stops along the way for goodies from Republic Parks & Recreation, Little Caesars, Preston Family Dental, First Christian Church, and Price Cutter, all while staying warm in your vehicle! At the end of the route, you can choose to exit or turn left for some extra scares down our Fright Drive! Be sure to stop at The Amp and visit the haunted trailer, presented by Better Homes & Gardens, and take a quick photo at our photo wall to enter the costume contest! We'll announce winners early next week. This is a FREE event! The drive-thru will be open from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

**TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - OCTOBER 24** A portion of Miller Road will be closed this Saturday, October 24 from approximately 7:25-8:25 a.m. for the Priebe Strong 1062 private special event. The closure will allow all Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K participants to begin their race safely. Please plan an alternate route during this time. Those with no alternate route that must leave during the closure will be directed by event volunteers during gaps between racers. Complete course maps can be found online at the link below. Registration ends this Friday for Youth Futsal! Futsal is a variation of soccer that is played indoors on a gym court with a special weighted soccer ball to limit bouncing. It’s the perfect opportunity to keep perfecting your soccer skills all winter long. We're currently accepting registration for teams and individuals ages 313 years through October 23.
