Scouting for a new monitoring site sometimes goes as planned. But, sometimes you find a dry creek bed. Today it was the latter, but we still found a few pools with aquatic macroinvertebrates. https://youtu.be/VzE1lz87Goc

"The authors add: Our 'message in a bottle' tags show how far and how fast plastic pollution can move. It demonstrates that this is a truly global issue, as a piece of plastic dropped in a river or ocean could soon wash up on the other side of the world." https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases//12/201202192806.htm

Come out and help clean up the rivers and creeks within the River des Peres Watershed anytime between Saturday, October 24 through October 31! Due to COVID-19, our annual cleanup event will be a little different this year, but we still need your help to take care of this valuable natural resource in our community. Volunteers and members of their immediate household can choose from multiple sites within the watershed for picking up trash or marking storm drain inlets. Instead of a one day cleanup, you can remove trash and/or mark storm drains at your chosen site anytime between October 24-31. Volunteers are asked to pre-register to select a site and to help event organizers coordinate supplies. https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Streamgram--River-des-P
Many thanks to everyone who came out to Rock Bridge Memorial State Park to learn more about the critters that live in the Bonne Femme watershed! It was a beautiful warm October day enjoyed by all. https://www.columbiamissourian.com//article_6cd066ae-0b10-
