Believe A chittering, warbling chorus As morn stretches ‘ward the day Distant doves sing of their love... (Though I think that’s what they say) A whisper to the skies above As stars fade from evening shift Lord above, how can I prove To others you exist? You can’t... What? Who’s there?... I AM... And... you can’t. Why? Each man must seek me out, Each must trust me on their own Each must live a life of their free will Each must learn of what is known For creation speaks of who I AM As all’s been made of cosmic dust Though I’ve given certain rules All I ask is for your trust. For life can be quite simple Or for others, be quite hard But all receive the gift of choice Accept my love, or be on guard For I will never hurt you Though at times things seem unfair But never will I ever give You that which you cannot bear For my love for you is endless E’en for those who curse my name Though they choose to Me deny I’ll always love them just the same Just know my ways aren’t yours Yet, I made you to explore This world a giant puzzle where Learning leads to learning more. But why? Why not? Does a curious kitten question it’s master? Do playful puppies ponder their existence? Of course not. You my child, are unique. You are self aware. You have supped on the fruits of the tree, and now must labor to bear its harvest. All you need to know is I am Waiting, watching wanting To give you all my love All you need do is... Believe...
