So great to have lunch today with Father Jerry Arano-Ponce a priest friend from the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. It was a bit windy on the porch at Rye in Mission Farms, but a beautiful day to be outside. Father Jerry was so nice to give me a couple of gifts and yes, we are still Super Bowl proud of our KC Chiefs!... We did split the apple pie and yes, to my Exodus 40 friends, I did not check the box today on no sweets.

During this time of Lent, let us all find time to have hopeful and inspiring conversations with God.

How much fun to spend a morning with oldest granddaughter (and grandchild!), Emma, who competed in a cross country meet at Bishop Miege High School. Lots of competition, but she hung in there with a great attitude and finished strong. Her team made a great showing, as well!

The St. Michael Inclusive Learning Enhancement Zone (SMILE Zone) is a unique special education program for students of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic High School which includes Life Skills Curriculum. Through their pre-driving program, SMILE utilizes a golf cart to teach students basic driving skills and build confidence in students. When their golf cart broke down, the Loretto Foundation and RMI Golf Carts were happy to donate a golf cart to these amazing students and school!

Loretto Foundation and RMI Golf Carts partnered to provide golf carts to Project C.U.R.E., which provides medical supplies and equipment to severely resource-limited communities around the world. The Loretto Foundation was able to help them secure a new warehouse space which has allowed Kansas City to become a regional distribution center and increase its annual international shipment threefold. The new golf cart will help staff and volunteers move around the large space in an efficient manner. A beautiful day on the golf course celebrating the work of our priests and seminarians in Kansas City. The Priests Appreciation Day Golf Tournament at the Nicklaus Golf Club at Lions Gate on 9/21.

The Catholic Education Foundation provides scholarship funding to hundreds of students and their families. The annual fundraiser, Gaudeamus, will be held virtually on October 24th. Great party for my son, Lamar Hunt III (yes, we have no middle name!) who received his Ph.D. in Bio-Stats from Johns Hopkins University recently. A lot of school for a lot of years has been rewarded with a great job. Congratulations Lamar. Thanks to daughter Elyssa and son-in-law Matt for hosting all of us. Jack Stack Bar-b-que couldn’t have been any better and it was served at Lamar’s pointed request!

So great to be on the field with my brother Clark and sister Sharron and see the Chiefs’ World Championship banner unfolded from the very top of the Tower gate. Also great to say hello to some of the Chiefs’ players. Thanks to all of the fans who came out to the game or watched it at home. Great start. RUN IT BACK!
