Gorgeous weather alert! Remember, the only way we can keep our parks and trails safe is if everyone follows the rules. Please share!
Today's Parks Pick-Me-Up is Jordan Valley Park, where the pear trees are in full bloom this week! It's a great place to take a walk, soak in some sunshine and... admire the daffodils all within walking distance of MSU, Drury and downtown Springfield. Please practice social distancing in parks and on trails! Open daily 5:30 a.m.- 11 p.m. at 635 E. Trafficway. View more info at ParkBoard.org/ParksPickMeUp
Jordan Valley Park partners with Community Partnership of the Ozarks on this event to create awareness of and abolish human trafficking. Free admission, no registration, just come walk and learn, Sat., Oct. 17, 9 a.m. at Jordan Valley Park.
A beautiful day in the Park today!
Enjoy shade and maybe spot some ground hogs in downtown Springfield at Jordan Valley Park. You can find this lunch spot by going north once you’re in the Jordan Valley Ice Park parking lot. The Jordan Valley Maintenance Building houses offices, park rangers, park maintenance and has dozens of tables where you can have a peaceful lunch. After your picnic, take a walk on the Jordan Creek Greenway trail and enjoy the park.
Heads up that the fountains will be closing for maintenance for the season on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Last day is Labor Day, so get out and enjoy it before that evening! : Randall Rash
THE FOUNTAINS ARE OPEN!
June 19 update: the fountains are on! We are eager to turn on our fountains at Jordan Valley Park for the summer, and we know you are too! However, we are not able to open with current city orders limiting 50 people at public gatherings. We will post an update here if that changes. More info on current city orders are here:
Park Board Chair Carolyne Gerdes shares her love for her favorite park, Jordan Valley!

Lots of folks are asking, so here's the scoop: Parks and trails are OPEN, playgrounds and buildings are closed. Springfield's stay-home order includes an except...ion "to engage in outdoor activity," specifically "biking, walking, hiking or running." Be smart: stay 6 feet away from anyone you meet, do not gather in groups, and if you're sick, stay home. We need everyone's help making sure our parks and trails stay safe! Read the full stay-home order here (see Section III A 1 c.) https://www.springfieldmo.gov//COVID-19-Stay-at-Home-Order See more
Just a friendly reminder of park and trail guidelines during this time. Be kind, be safe, stay healthy. Additionally, our Golf Courses (Rivercut Municipal Golf Course, Horton Smith Golf Course, and Bill and Payne Stewart Golf Course) are OPEN for play.
Look what's popping up at Jordan Valley Park! Come take a stroll to see Spring's first blooms.
