Holt County Autumn Festival 03.03.2021

HCAF Friends and Family, So sorry for the lack of postings and distancing since cancelling the 2020 festival due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The fair board met this past week to begin planning for the 2021 Holt County Autumn Festival. To say we have many challenges ahead of us just simply puts it lightly. We have decided to move the fair back to the original fair dates and plan to have the fair September 8-11, 2021 (the first weekend after Labor Day). That being said, we don’...t have a carnival at this time. If ANYONE knows of a carnival or even has a contact we can reach out to that might know of a carnival please message us on here or get in contact with one of the fair board members. We will have a contingency plan if we are unable to get a carnival but that will hopefully not be the case. We plan to have the trivia tournament as normal, more to come on that (if you’d like to get it in your calendar we’re planning on having it March 19 assuming we get the approvals needed). We plan to try and do everything as normal as possible so be prepared for more communications on advertisements, memorials, and etc. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions. Again, we apologize for the lack of posts and updates but we’re all learning and adjusting. Thank you for your ongoing support and let us all keep our fingers crossed everything goes smoothly. Thank you, HCAF Board See more

HCAF Friends and Family, The fair board has booked the TJ Hall Building in Oregon for Saturday, July 25 from 3-5pm to discuss the fair. We ask that any sponsor, volunteer, and/or anyone that wishes to help with the fair to please join us. There are many challenges we are facing and we would like to get the thoughts of everyone involved. Thank you,... HCAF Fair Board See more

Hello HCAF friends, We have been made aware some not-so-true information is being spread regarding the fair this year. So, let me clear it up so everyone is on the same page: 1. We 100% plan to have the fair this year. While things may be a little different, unless something drastic changes, we will have the fair. 2. The carnival will be coming to the fair as they have in the past. Obviously this can change but for now it is planned and anticipated they will be here.... 3. Other fairs/festivals in the surrounding area have made the decision to forego their festivities this year. However, with the support of the health department and the majority of the community, we will continue planning for the fair and expect it to be a great gathering like those in the years past. Obviously, we recommend if you aren’t feeling well at the time to please stay home. If you wish to wear a mask, by all means do so. If you don’t support the decision, you are entitled to your opinion. The fair dates will be September 16-19. The board has made the decision to forego sending out the memberships and memorials sheet this year. Instead, we will be creating a PayPal account that anyone wanting to donate certainly can. Also, we will be placing an Ad in the Oregon Times’ Observer and Mound City News with information where donations can be sent. Donations can always be left at Wells Bank in Oregon as well. We plan to acknowledge the donors via an ad in these newspapers closer to the fair. For any questions please reach out to Scott Anderson, HCAF treasurer. Closer to the fair we will be going around accepting donations for bingo prizes as we have historically. As always, thank you for your support. The fair board does everything on their own time so Holt County and the surrounding communities can have a fun, safe place to celebrate with friends and loved ones.

Holt County Autumn Festival Friends and Family, What incredible uncertain times we live in. While the adversity is beyond what most all of us have seen in our lives, with time and working TOGETHER we shall return to our normal wayseventually. That being said, the Holt County Autumn Festival Board has made some decisions that will change the fair, hopefully only slightly, for 2020. We hope to do our best to make as few changes as possible and proceed as normal. However, due t...o the hard times and simply just not knowing what will come, we will forego having a fair book this year. We hope to have a smaller version of the book with the events and activities to keep everyone informed. We WILL be sending out the memberships and memorials as we have done in the past. Please, do not feel obligated to contribute as we completely understand the times we live in. While we will not be having the normal fair book this year where we would acknowledge the memberships and memorials, we will add them to the book next year assuming we are able to return to our normal ways. As always, any money received, whether through the memorials/memberships or other donations, will be put towards the Holt County Autumn Festival. We hope that the fair can shed some light on the dark times and give everyone some additional hope. The fair has historically been a time for celebrating, reunions, and simply bringing joy and excitement to Holt County, surrounding counties, and others from afar. While we will continue to handle things day by day, we anticipate another successful and eventful 68th Annual, Holt County’s Greatest Hits!, Holt County Autumn Festival. See more

If I remember the team names correctly, winning the tie breaker for second place last night was team What does the fox say? (Losing the tie breaker was Shockers) and the winning team was Nation of Quizlam. Thank you everyone who came and supported the fair!
