For many months we went with just 1 or 2 cases of COVID-positive patients in our practice. This was great, and I attributed it to my patients being very adhere...nt to the recommendations. This past week, however, we have seen more and more patients testing positive with COVID and even more reporting they've had close contact with someone they learned just tested positive. As a reminder, if you are exposed to someone who tests positive for COVID, you need to quarantine for 14 days. If you yourself test positive, you need to isolate. And would you be able to help contact tracers identify every place you've been and every person you've seen in the past 14 days? THIS IS NOT THE TIME TO LET DOWN YOUR GUARD!!! I hear repeatedly "I'm only doing things with people in my bubble." Have you asked everyone in your bubble about EVERY other person they've encountered? The virus is spreading quickly in our community. Obviously what we are doing is not working. I strongly encourage you to go back to the precautions you were taking in the spring. Your bubble probably isn't as safe as you think it is.

Get tested for free on Saturday, Oct. 17, from ...10am-1pm at Swope Health located at 3801 Blue Parkway in KCMO. Free flu shots also available. No appointment necessary, but onsite registration will be required. Space is limited to the first 100 people. Any Kansas City area resident may be tested and receive a flu shot.
