2021 S3DA schedule is out! Get your bows and get to training! If you are not an S3DA member and would like to get involved, Backyard Archers has a S3DA club that meets weekly all year. Call to get more detailed info. S3DA is open to all bow types and disciplines. Compounds, recurves and Genesis (NASP) bows are welcome. Target archery and 3D Archery are disciplines to participate in. Also, scholarships can be earned for college with the partnership S3DA has obtained wi...th USA Archery Collegiate. 3D Christmas fun! Backyard Archers JOAD members had a blast with shooting 3D targets! Ornaments were put over the 12 ring and counted as an extra point. We replaced several ornaments as we shot! Prizes were given to the top three as well as prizes for the archers who shot the highest score on the mystery target. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

Archers... After much consideration, the officers of the Missouri Archery Association have regrettably decided to cancel our State indoor tournament (as well as USA indoor Nationals) January 23rd. We feel this is in the best interest of the health and well-being of the archers, spectators and tournament staff. We are disappointed not to be able to hold this event, but we know it is in the right decision based on the information we have today regarding the Covid-19 virus.... We look forward to August 2021 and hosting our State outdoor tournament.

Achievement pin shoot success! Meaghan Frank has recieved her outdoor Bronze Olympian pin shooting her Genesis bow. She also shoots Olympic recurve and has earned several pins with in that discipline as well. She hadn't shot outdoors with her Genesis (NASP) bow and so shooting at 30 meters she earned ALL of her pins including her Bronze Olympian! Congratulations, Meaghan!

Hey NASP archers....are you itching to get back to shooting?? Why not start your season off to a great start with advanced lessons? You have plenty of time to continue and solidify what you learn before the tournament season. Only 10 archers will be allowed for social distancing so be sure to get your name in soon. If any Backyard Archers S3DA members are wanting to participate in the S3DA Nationals, please contact me as soon as possible. This will be an indoor format, shooting a 150 round on the NFAA target. (Blue/white face)

Sarah Jungmeyer has been a Backyard Archers JOAD member for about 3 months. She has been taking private lessons steadily for about a year. She works hard keeping her technique honed by shooting several times a week. Recently she participated in her first Outdoor Achievement Pin shoot at JOAD. She did very well! She scored 36 arrows at 30 meters for a 323 total. She earned all 8 pins as well as her bronze Olympian pin!! (Her score was past what was needed to earn the Gold Olympian, but USA Achery only allows one Olympian pin to be awarded per Pin shoot.) Olympian pins earn special recognition from USA Archery and nice backpack Way to go, Sarah! Keep up the great work!

Meagan Frank is a long time member of Backyard Archers JOAD. (Since 2013) She is an accomplished Olympic-recurve archer as well as an awesome NASP archer. Recently she has added lettering in archery at Fatima High School to her list of archery achievements! Congratulations Meaghan!

Xcel Archers clinic for this Saturday June 27th is cancelled.

Youth archery camps are coming up! See flyer below for details. During this time, archery camps will be held outdoors. Safety is for all, so if you, a friend or family member is or has been sick recently, please consider opting out. Also, if you have traveled outside of the mid-Missouri area two weeks prior to the camp, again, please consider opting out and watching for future archery classes.

Another update! Archery tournaments are taking a big hit due to Covid-19.
