Since February 1, 2021 our department has responded to four calls for service. Two were inside the city limits. The first one was located in Blades Drive apartments for an apartment filling up with smoke. The second was located on Lewis Street where a family was using an external heating device to thaw the plumbing under the residence, which caused a fire. The third call was a mutual aid call to assist Parma VFD with a fully engulfed residential structure. The fourth was assisting New Madrid Fire with a residential fire which started in the laundry room. We have also responded to numerous vehicle crashes caused by the weather conditions. We ask the public to stay home if at all possible and to stay warm and safe.
