So just last week gave an estimate on an addition. Seems my estimate on concrete for the addition was the same as 2 others, however, the actual conventional construction part of the addition was half the nearest competitor. Perplexed the customer asked how this could be? There are several reasons but primarily I have a base sq/ft price for materials. This price is generally only affected by the customer's upgrades if any. Second is the fact that, except for electrical, I do all my own work, so I dont have to much down time waiting on others, and I have flat daily rate for labor. So today was hang chandeliers day. Swapped 2 ceiling fans out and replaced with glass chandeliers for an elderly gentleman in Aurora. Improved his kitchen and dining room lighting at least 2 fold.
